Our take
A tap changes the job at the counter
PlaceAlive describes an NFC Club Card used with Apple and Google Wallet stamp cards. That physical touchpoint is an important part of the comparison. Think about where it will live, who can reach it and how staff will explain it to a first-time customer.
Kardy uses merchant scanning instead. The practical choice is between those service routines, not simply NFC versus QR as technologies. A tap can be appealing, while a staff-controlled scan may fit another shop's process. Ask both providers how they handle repeat attempts and mistakes before deciding which routine you prefer.
Read PlaceAlive CardsWhere Kardy still falls short
Kardy does not yet offer PlaceAlive's staff-free NFC tap flow or its cryptographic NFC validation model. PlaceAlive documents a no-monthly-fee entry plan and optional wallet notifications that Kardy has not yet matched in its MVP pricing and engagement surface. Kardy's wallet notification and local discovery experience is still being built, while PlaceAlive already describes nearby lock-screen surfacing.
