Kardy vs
Piqlo

A tap-or-scan card that combines digital stamps or points with a customer list, reviews, contact sharing, and menus.

Our take

What should a scan at your counter do?

Loyalty may be only one reason a customer scans something in your shop. Piqlo also describes review links, menus and contact sharing on its editable cards. If you are currently juggling several printed QR codes, that broader brief is worth considering.

Kardy's focus here is membership and rewards across participating businesses. The decision is less about which product has more buttons and more about what you want the customer to do first. A menu, a review request and a loyalty signup each ask for a different kind of attention.

Where Kardy still falls short

Kardy does not yet offer Piqlo's points-per-visit or points-per-spend rewards catalogue. Customer CRM, lapsed-member views, review links, contact saving, and editable menu cards are not in the current Kardy MVP. Piqlo currently documents a more mature tap-or-scan setup with staff keys and multiple card types for a local business.

A quick feature reference

Use this to shortlist questions for a demo, not to count checkmarks. “Not listed” means we could not confirm a capability—not that it is unavailable.

Try it in practice

Give a colleague the customer-facing link without instructions. Ask them to find the menu and collect a stamp. Notice whether the next action is obvious or needs explaining.

Use the phones and staff roles you expect to have at launch. Keep a note of anything that needs an explanation, a manual correction or a second device. Those are the details to resolve before inviting customers.
